Myself and 7 other guys are planning a trip to BB on Feb. 28 - March 4. The plan is to hike the Chisos. Here is my idea which I would like feedback on:

First morning, start at Basin Trailhead. Hike up Laguna Meadows Trail around to Southwest Rim and camp at SW-3.

Next day, hike Southeast/Northeast Rim and down Boot Canyon Trail (or possibly from Southwest Rim Trail directly down Boot Canyon Trail skipping the Southeast/Northeast Trail if closed due to Peregrin falcon mating from Feb. thru March). Camp at BC-2.

Last day, hike down Boot Canyon Trail (possibly hike Emory Peak) and down the Pinnacles Trail back to Basin Trailhead.

I have heard that it may be easier on your knees to hike Pinnacles first and then down Laguna Meadows, but sounds easier physically the other way. We are all in our 30's and in pretty decent shape.

By the way, I have camped hiked BB 10 or more times (but sad to say, I have never hiked around the rim except up Emory Peak once). Can't wait!

Thanks for all your help.
